UP Special TET Syllabus 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has started the application process for the UP Special TET for In-Service teachers. The eligible candidates can apply till 04 October 2026. Those who are planning to appear for the Special TET scheduled to be held on 03 November 2026 should start their preparation immediately. The first step towards the goal should be to download the syllabus and understand it thoroughly. The Special TET is conducted for the Teachers / Assistant Teachers and Special Teachers (CWSN) working in the government/ aided schools. The exam involves two papers- Paper 1 for Primary level teaching (class 1 to 5) and Paper 2 for Upper Primary level teaching (class 6 to 8).
UP Special TET Syllabus 2026 Highlights
The UPESSC will conduct the UP Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET) for the In-Service teachers in the state of Uttar Pradesh. UP Special TET Syllabus 2026
The UP Special TET exam is conducted for two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The candidates can either appear for both or one of them depending upon what they have mentioned during the application process. The syllabus for Paper 1 and Paper 2 has been provided here for the convenience of the candidates.
UP Special TET Paper 1 Syllabus 2026 (Class 1 to 5)
The UP Special TET Paper 1 is being conducted for the candidates who want to teach primary level students i.e. class 1 to 5. The syllabus covers various topics the level of which has been given here:

Language: Hindi, Sanskrit and English, Science, Mathematics, Environment and Social Studies (up to Class 12 level).
Teaching Skills, Child Psychology, Information Technology, Life Skills Management and Aptitude (up to D.El.Ed syllabus level).

UP Special TET Paper 2 Syllabus 2026 (Class 6 to 8)
The UP Special TET Paper 2 is conducted for the Upper Primary level teaching i.e. candidates eligibility is determined to teach classes 6 to 8. The exam consists of a single paper and has two sections- General Knowledge (compulsory) and Subject chosen by the candidate (either Social Studies, and Science & Mathematics).

UP Special TET Exam Pattern 2026
It is very important to understand the exam pattern before proceeding to start the preparation. The UP Special TET exam pattern is almost similar for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both papers consist of 120 MCQs with each question carrying +3 marks. There is also a provision for negative marking i.e. 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. The major difference between both the papers is that the Paper 1 doesn’t include any optional subject. Candidates can check the exam pattern here.
