Bank Holidays October 2026: there will be several bank holidays in October according to RBI’s list. These holidays are due to national festivals, regional celebrations and regular weekend closures.
Although some holidays and weekends are nationwide, a few bank holidays are only implemented in a specific state and city, due to some local festivals and celebrations.
Banks will remain closed on Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays as per the standard banking schedule.
On Gandhi Jayanti, October 2, the banks will observe a nationwide bank holiday. Other holidays such as Dussehra, Durga Puja, Maha Ashtami and Valmiki Jayanti will lead to closures in different regions according to the RBI list.
Students and customers who are planning to have repeated bank visits in October should look at the list before they plan anything for themselves.

Bank Holidays In October 2026: Weekend Closures
Banks across the nation will also observe holidays apart from festivals and national holidays.
Banks will remain closed on October 4, 10, 11, 18, 24 and 25 due to Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays.
