Further, all participating countries receive USD 1.5 million per team to help with preparations.

Trivia: The amount of prize money has almost doubled from the USD 440 million awarded at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. 

Prize Money Breakdown: How Much Does Each Team Earn?

This is the official payout structure confirmed by FIFA. The money a team receives depends entirely on the round in which they leave the tournament.

On top of the above, every qualified team gets USD 1.5 million to prepare for the matches. This means that all the participating countries are guaranteed at least USD 10.5 million for participation.

There is no official reason for the high prize money. However, there are two significant reasons. First, the tournament has expanded. There are 48 teams competing for the first time ever, as opposed to 32.
