CUET Exam Pattern 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the CUET UG Exam Pattern 2026, along with the official information bulletin. As per the latest exam pattern, the CUET exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode in 13 Indian languages for 37 test papers. Each test paper will have 50 questions with a 60-minute duration.
This year, the NTA will tentatively conduct the CUET UG exam from May 11 to May 31, 2026. If you’re planning to appear for this exam, it’s essential to understand the exam structure, section-wise pattern, and marking scheme.
The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2026 will serve as the gateway to undergraduate admissions in central, state, deemed, and private universities across India. Mode of CUET UG 2026 Exam

Like last year, this year, the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2026 will also be conducted exclusively in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. This means that all candidates will take the exam using a computer at designated test centres. This approach aims to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the examination process.

CUET 2026 Medium of Exam

The CUET UG exam will be conducted in 13 languages: Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. The students need to choose the language for the Question Paper while filling up the online Application Form, and it cannot be changed at a later stage. 

Total Subjects in CUET 2026 Exam

A total of 37 subjects were offered in the CUET UG 2026 exam. The breakup of these subjects is as follows

  • 13 Languages

  • 23 Domain-specific

  • 01 General Test

Candidates may choose up to a maximum of five (05) subjects, including languages and the General Aptitude Test, irrespective of the subjects opted in class XII. However, the candidate needs to fulfil the eligibility criteria for a programme at a desired university.

CUET UG 2026 Marking Scheme

For multiple-choice questions: To answer a question, the candidates need to choose one option corresponding to the correct answer or the most appropriate answer. However, if any anomaly or discrepancy is found after the process of challenges of the key verification, it shall be addressed in the following manner:

  • Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Five marks (+5)

  • Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1)

  • Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0)
