Banks Open Or Close Today: All bank customers are advised to check the bank schedule before they plan to visit their nearest branches in the next 5 days. All banks will remain closed today across the nation because it is the fourth Saturday. According to RBI, second and fourth Saturdays are week-offs for all employees in all states. This closure applies to all major banks, including SBI, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank.

This holiday also comes just before a three-day nationwide bank strike scheduled from 28 to 30 September. However, on RBI’s instruction, bank branches will open briefly on 27 September, giving customers a chance to complete any urgent work before the strike begins.

Will Banks Open On Tomorrow, 27 September?

On an instruction by the Reserve Bank of India, released on Thursday, all public sector banks and regional rural banks (RRBs) in India should remain operational on Sunday, 27 September. RBI has made this arrangement ahead of the three-day nationwide strike. The three-day nationwide strike is scheduled to start from September 28 to September 30.

Although the banks are given instruction to stay operational, services may vary due to staffing constraints and union-related concerns. On the other hand, all private sector banks are likely to follow regular Sunday closures.

Customers and students are advised to check with their branches in advance and complete essential banking work on time, that is, September 27.
