It is a big moment for the tribal leader Vishnu Deo Sai, 59 years old, as he becomes the new Chief Minister of the state of Chhattisgarh, as named by BJP on Sunday.
He has been a former Union Minister and the state party president for three times.
The freshly elected MLAs of the party met its central observers wherein Raman Singh, former CM, proposed Vishnu Deo Sai's name. This proposal was supported by the longest-serving MLA of the party Brijmohan Agrawal, and Arun Sao, the BJP Chief who resigned from Lok Sabha after achieving success with the Lormi Assembly seat. Sai's name was also supported by Punnulal Mohale and Lata Usendi.
Arun Sao visited Raj Bhavan and expressed to the reporters that the ceremony of swearing-in may be held on the 12th or 13th of December, depending on the Prime Minister's availability.
Sai expressed his gratitude with the words, "I thank all the MLAs who have shown faith in me." The newly elected Chief Minister promised that he would be working with complete honesty and would aim at living up to everyone's expectations. He also says that he shall fulfill the "Modi guarantees" provided to the people by the party.
In his statement, the man also expressed that in the past five years, over 18 lakh people could not get the Awas Yojna, aiming to provide housing to people, and he aims to ensure those 18 lakh people are able to enjoy the benefits. He also said that he would ensure that the corrupt ones get punished.
Sao and Vijay Sharma are speculated to be the Deputy Chief Ministers with Raman Singh being the Speaker. There isn't any official confirmation on the same, however.
Arun Sao stands as the OBC face coming from the Sahu (Teli) community and in case the man is made the Deputy CM, a balance will be successfully struck by the party, wherein the OBC candidates of the party are given representation. This proves to be beneficial for the party as the Sahus hold a good population in the state of Chhattisgarh and prove to be a robust vote support for the party.

Sai-the first elected tribal CM of Chhattisgarh
There was a time when Ajit Jogi was made the Chief Minister, but a state committee declined to accept its tribal status in the year 2019. Today, Vishnu Deo Sai becomes the very first elected tribal Chief Minister of the state of Chhattisgarh.
Therefore, the election of Sai as the CM of the state had a positive impact on the tribal community of the state, right before the Lok Sabha polls. This time, the performance of the BJP was really good in the tribal seats, especially in the Sarguja belt. Sai belongs to this belt only, and the party successfully won 14 seats in the area. In Bastar, the party managed to secure 8 out of the total 12 seats as well.
