GATE 2027 Registration Ends October 5; Know How To Apply At goaps.iitm.ac.in; Fees, Exam Dates

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras will close the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027 registration on October 5, 2026. Students interested in securing admissions in Master’s programs like M.Tech, M.E. and doctoral programs (Ph.D.) at top Indian institutes like the IITs, NITs, and IISc can apply on the official application portal goaps.iitm.ac.in. The GATE 2027 examination will be held between February 6 and February 21, 2027.
Students will be able to apply for the examination till October 12, 2026, by paying a late fee. The application rectification window will open on October 14 and October 21, 2026. The city allotment notification will be released on January 4, 2027.

How To Apply For GATE 2027 Exam?
- Visit the official GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) 2027 portal - goaps.iitm.ac.in.
- Click on “Apply now,” and then on “Proceed to GATE 2027 registration.”
- You will be required to login to your DigiLocker account to apply.
- Submit the required documents and pay the application fees.
- You will be successfully registered for the GATE 2027 examination.

Documents Required For GATE 2027 Registration
- Candidate’s live photo will be captured during registration time. Hence, use a computer with a webcam or your phone with a minimum of 5 MP front-facing camera.
- Please capture your face image in a well-lit area.
- Good quality image of the candidate’s photograph conforming to the specifications
- Good quality image of the candidate’s signature conforming to the specifications
- The same ID, in original, that was verified from DigiLocker MUST be produced while appearing for the GATE 2027 examination at the centre.
- Category (SC/ST) certificate, if applicable, in PDF format to be uploaded to DigiLocker. Create a folder named 'GATE2027'. Upload category(SC/ST) certificates as CATEGORY.pdf
- Scanned copy of UDID (preferred)/PwD Certificate, if applicable, in PDF format to be uploaded in the 'GATE2027' folder created in DigiLocker. The file should be named UDID_CERT.pdf or PWD_CERT.pdf, respectively.
- Scanned copy of Appendix-B1 or Appendix-B2 or Dyslexic Certificate (whichever is applicable), compiled with the PwD certificate as a single PDF document and uploaded in the same drive as PWD_CERT.pdf
- Certificate required for Compensatory time and Scribe
GATE 2027 Exam, Result Date
The GATE 2027 is scheduled to be conducted on February 6,7, 13, 14, 20 and February 21, 2027. The result for GATE 2027 will be announced on March 19, 2027.
