Andhra Pradesh State Education Minister Asimulapu Suresh has stated that an application has been created for the government to check that all the schools which will be reopening from today - November 2, 2020, follow the Standard Operating Procedures issued keeping in mind the COVID-19 situation.
Task Force in Place
The minister while speaking to the media stated that a task force has been created with the collectors and other officials in order to monitor the situation and random tests will be conducted for the students on a regular basis. He further added that efforts will be made to conduct the sanitization of the classes on alternate days until noon.
The minister while speaking about the intermediate classes stated that the second-year intermediate classes will commence from today November 2, 2020, while the first-year classes will begin from November 16, 2020.
Admissions 2020
The state government also prepared a schedule for the 2020-21 Academic year by August 2020 and only online admissions have been permitted to the 647 colleges and 5,83,760 seats were allotted. According to reports, some of the colleges which failed to follow the Standard procedures were denied renewal this year.
Unlock 5 Guidelines
According to the unlock 5 guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the state governments and union territories have been provided with the authority to decide on the reopening of their respective schools. While some of the state governments have announced the dates for the reopening of the schools some others have not yet confirmed over the ripening keeping in mind the COVID-19 pandemic and the safety of the students and staff members.
