Students planning to pursue higher education are eligible to apply for UP Scholarship 2026-27 and get financial assistance from INR 230 to INR 1,200 per month by the government of Uttar Pradesh for the 2026-27 session. Students looking for graduation, postgraduation, ITI or diploma courses, etc., can apply for the scholarship online at the scholarship.up.gov.in website. The last date to apply for the scholarship is October 31, 2026.

Who is Eligible for UP Scholarship 2026 27?
Following students will be eligible to apply for the UP Scholarship:
- Students should be permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh
- Students should have completed Class 11, 12 or is waiting for the final 12th board examinations
- Students should belong to General, SC, ST, OBC or minor communities. Each category has its specific eligibility criteria for the amount of scholarship
- SC category day scholars will receive INR 3,500 and INR 7,000 as residential candidates
- General category candidates will receive INR 3,000 per year under the scholarship
- Family income for SC, ST should not be above INR 2.50 lakh annually and for General and OBC candidates should not be above INR 2 lakh.
- Students should have a bank account in their own name and seeded with Aadhar Card Number.
Candidates should note that the scholarship amount will be transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer, DBT, to avoid discrepancies.
How to Apply for UP Scholarship Scheme 2026-27?
Follow the process mentioned below to know how to apply for the scholarship:
- Go to the official website of UP Govt. Scholarship portal, i.e. scholarship.up.gov.in
- Click on the scholarship link and select fresh application option
- Enter the details required such as name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, etc.
- Select the category and fill academic details
- Upload the required documents in the prescribed format and submit the form
The government officials will verify the details entered and scrutinize the application before the disbursement of the scholarship amount. The last date for renewal of the previous scholarship is October 15, 2026.
Candidates should also know that the authorities have made digilocker and One-Time Registration (OTR) mandatory for all scholarship schemes and portals. Students have to use their Aadhar Card for verification. Documents such as Aadhar Card, Class 10 marksheet, Latest Income Certificate, UP Residence Certificate, Caster Certificate, Current year's non-refundable fee receipt, College Enrollment Number, and Passport-size photo, should be available in the original hard and soft copies which will be uploaded during registration.
