UGC NET June Re-Exam 2026 City Slip: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the UGC NET 2026 city intimation slip for the re-exam. This slip is for candidates appearing in the English, Commerce, and Sociology papers, which will be held again in September. NTA decided to conduct a re-exam for these three subjects after finding factual, typographical, and translation errors in the question papers. The city slip tells candidates which city their exam centre will be in. It is not the admit card. Candidates can check and download the slip from the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in, using their login details.

NTA has not announced an official admit card date yet. One report expects the admit card by around September 4, 2026, closer to the exam. Candidates should keep checking ugcnet.nta.nic.in for the official date
Why Only Three Subjects Are Having a Re-Exam
NTA decided to re-conduct the exam only for English, Commerce, and Sociology. This decision came after an expert committee reviewed complaints about these three question papers. The committee found factual errors, translation mistakes, typographical errors, and questions repeated from earlier exam cycles. Since the errors were serious enough to affect the fairness of the exam, NTA decided a full re-exam was needed instead of just removing the faulty questions. The remaining 84 subjects did not have such errors, so their results were processed normally, and the provisional answer key for those subjects was released on August 16, 2026.
