Oppo has launched ColorOS 17, its new smartphone operating system based on Android 17 with a redesigned interface, smoother animations, and doubled artificial intelligence (AI) abilities. It is slated to reach eligible Oppo smartphones in phases, with availability depending on the device model and market.
While the OPPO Find X10 series will be the maiden phones to run ColorOS 17 out of the box, launching internationally on October 21st, numerous flagships from OPPO, OnePlus, and Realme will receive the update by the end of this month. For the uninitiated, OxygenOS and Realme UI have been officially phased out in favour of ColorOS 17.
What’s New in ColorOS 17?
Living Flow Design unveils translucent visuals, fluid transitions, and responsive feedback. The Laminar Flow Engine is developed to bolster app launches, gallery loading, and multitasking.
Oppo says app-launch stability escalates by 55%, gallery thumbnails load up to 50% faster on first launch, and the system can keep over 25% more apps running in the background than ColorOS 16. These are company test results; performance may depend on device and usage.
AI is another focus. AI Mind Pilot’s Agent Mode can work with files and photos, organise content and create outputs from information stored on a phone. AI Photo Agent adds editing tools, including applying the colour palette of a reference image or making revisions described in everyday language.

ColorOS 17 will debut on the latest Find X10 series, with other compatible devices receiving it progressively. Early rollout information reported covers Find X9 and Find X8 models, Find N foldables, selected Reno phones, and Oppo tablets.
Models in early reports include the Find X9 and X8 families, Find N5 and N3 devices, Reno 16, Reno 15 and Reno 14 series, along with selected K- and F-series phones. Schedules may vary by region, and not every model in a family is guaranteed to qualify.
