Osmania University Convocation 2026: Osmania University is set to hold its 85th convocation on September 8, 2026, at the Tagore Auditorium on the university campus. During the ceremony, the university will confer 640 PhD degrees and present 71 gold medals to meritorious students for their academic achievements.

640 PhD Degrees to Be Awarded
A total of 640 PhD degrees will be awarded during the 85th convocation. The degrees will be presented to researchers from different departments working under 12 faculties of Osmania University. The recognition highlights the research contributions of doctoral scholars across different academic disciplines at the university.
71 Gold Medals for Meritorious Students
Along with the PhD degrees, Osmania University will confer 71 gold medals on students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. Dedicated seating arrangements will be made for degree recipients and gold medal winners, along with arrangements for dignitaries, sponsors and other guests attending the ceremony.
Dr Krishna M. Ella to Deliver Convocation Address
Dr Krishna M. Ella, Founder and Chairman of Bharat Biotech, will attend the event as the chief guest and deliver the convocation address. Telangana Governor and Osmania University Chancellor Shiv Pratap Shukla will preside over the ceremony.
