ASRLMS is popularly known as The Assam state rural livelihoods mission society which is an independent and autonomous institution under society registration Act XXI of 1860 established by Panchayat and rural development department in order to address the rural poverty of the state. The ASRLMS leaves no stone unturned to implement the national rural livelihoods mission in the state with the main objective of enhancing the social and economic empowerment in the entire Assam area. The institution follows a multi prolonged methodology to strengthen the livelihoods of the rural people by promoting SHG’s, providing skill development and placement for youth for the wage based occupation in different private or business organizations and imparting self -employment oriented training.

The institute contributes immensely in the lives of people. Some of the main objectives are stated below;

1. To create a pro poor policy environment

2. To bring in convergence among various poverty reduction and empowerment missions

3. To evolve strategies and approaches for the empowerment of the poor through social mobilization and institution building for community participation.

4. To strengthen and form producer co operatives/groups around key commodities and also expanding poor people participation in existing commodity co operatives and producer groups.

As far as the recruitment is concerned, ASRLMS has unfolded a notification regarding the recruitment for the same for filling up approximately 161 vacancies. Candidates who are eligible can apply for the same by sending application on or before the last date 5.11.14. In addition, candidates must possess graduation or post -graduation degree in the relevant field from an affiliated institute or university according to post applied for.
