DhirubhaiAmbani institute of Information and communication Technology (DA-IICT) is a technological university that is located in Gadndhinagar, Gujarat, India. The university is named after the Gujarati entrepreneur and reliance group founder DhirubhaiAmabani. The university started functioning in August 2001, with an intake of approximately 240 students for its undergraduate Bachelor of Technology program in information and technology. Since 2001, the institution has expanded itself on large scale wich includes post graduate courses as well. For instance Masters of Technology, Master of Science in information technology and agriculture and rural development, master of Design. This is five year dual degree program along with the doctorate program. The bachelors program is of four year duration and the first batch of the institution was passed in the year 2005 and that of post graduates in 2004.
Every year there are thousands and lakhs of students who apply for the course at both graduate and post graduate levels. Due to limited number of seats, selection is done on the basis of All India Engineering entrance examination (AIEEE). There are few seats which are reserved for Non-resident Indians, foreign nationals, who are admitted through a different admission process which is known as “Direct Admission of Foreign and NRI students “(DAFS).
The institute comprises of modern and networked campus with optical fiber cable connectivity between buildings. This also includes IT infrastructure, computing and communication resources, electronic access controls and a payment system through smart cards. Apart from the well- constructed campus, the infra-structure facilities also include laboratories and resource centers.
