HTET is known as Haryana teacher eligibility test and this test is conducted to recruit teachers who possess the essential aptitude and ability to meet the challenges of teaching at elementary, secondary, and senior secondary levels. One of the essential qualifications for a candidate to be eligible for the appointment as a teacher in any schools recognized by the Department of Education is that the candidate should pass the “Haryana teacher eligibility test”. HTET is conducted by the board of university and students appearing for these examinations need to follow certain guidelines and other such rules and regulations.
As stated above, there are certain rules and regulations when it comes to clearing these examinations. Apart from these, HTET comprises of eligibility criteria for the students. In accordance with the provisions made in the service rules of various categories of teaching staff in the state of Haryana there are certain guidelines framed by the NCTE, HTET shall apply to. Below is the list;
- Schools of the state government/local authority referred to in service rules and also Sub-clause (i) of clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE act, 2009
- Schools referred to in sub clause (ii) of clause (n) of the RTE act in Haryana.
Provided a School referred to in Sub-clause (IV) of clause (n) of Section 2 of the RTE Act may, for the purpose of Elementary levels, exercise the option of considering either this HTET or the TET conducted by the Central Government.

In case the candidate fails to meet the eligibility criteria, the application form would be rejected and students will also not be allowed to sit for the entrance test. It is also important for the candidates to provide correct personal information, as wrong material facts will not be accepted.
