About NERIST
NERIST is popularly known as north eastern regional institute of science and technology.

NERIST was established in 1984 and is located in the Indian state of arunachal Pradesh. NERIST is a deemed university which is funded and controlled by ministry of human resource development, department of education, government of India. As far the geographical location of NERIST is concerned, the institute is located in Nirjuli in the Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh in the foot hills of Himalayas. The institute is spread over 500 acres of the land and is fully residential. In total there are eight hostel blocks. The campus works extremely well as it consist of faculty and staff quarter, guest houses, and temple. The infrastructure of NERIST interests large number of students. This is because every student who desires to seek admission in any college would definitely keep the infrastructure factor in his/her top priority.

In this institute every discipline has its own department. Adding on, the administration of this institute also comprises of chairperson of training and placement cell, education technology, transport and telecom team, sports in charge, security in charge, NCC/NSS team. Thus, this administration contributes immensely in the functioning of the institute.

As far as the academic structure is concerned, the program comprises of three modules, two year duration each. These three modules are called as certificate, diploma and degree. All these three modules are a part of undergraduate courses. There is an entrance examination conducted for all these three modules. The certificate and diploma levels focus entirely on practical aspects of engineering, whereas the degree level focuses on theoretical aspect which emphasizes on management and entrepreneurship skills.

There are different programs under NERIST which are mathematics, management studies, mechanical engineering, forestry and life sciences, computer science and engineering, civil engineering, chemistry, electronics and communication engineering, electrical engineering and many more.

The entrance examination is conducted at three levels i.e. NEE -1 for base module. NEE-2 for diploma in engineering and technology with Physics, chemistry, and mathematics as main subjects. This examination is also conducted for BS.C degree in forestry in subjects mentioned above. Entrance examination for NEE -2 is also conducted in vocational for diploma in engineering and technology. Third level is that of NEE-3 which includes B.tech degree in engineering and technology and candidates must have passed the examination with minimum 60 per cent of marks. Thus in a nutshell all these aspects are of extreme importance.
