As far as undergraduate courses are concerned admissions into courses such as bachelor of technology, before the year 2000 the admissions were made through a regional exam of the state government. From the year 2003 to 2012 the admissions were made on the basis of merit in the All India engineering entrance examination. The exam basically consisted of three sections on Mathematics, Physics, and chemistry. Every year more than 1,000,000 students appear for these examinations. However, it was from the year 2013, admissions are provided on the basis of merit list of Joint Entrance examination. this is one of the common examinations for all the premier universities in India. As per the rules and regulations in these examinations, ranks are given after considering 60% of the score in the test and 40% in the class 12th examinations. And for foreign students the admissions are done through Direct Admission of student’s abroad scheme.
Apart from the academics part, another significant aspect is related to placements. There are large numbers of companies which visit the college premises and recruit students. Recruitment of students is done purely on the basis of their performance in the interview as well as the scores are also taken into consideration. In the recent years, students have also been selected in the Indian Army to serve the nation with pride and honor. This is only because the institute works effectively on the growth and development of students, so that they can prosper and reach new heights.
