About NIT Puducherry
The National institute of technology, or NIT Puducherry is one of the 30 national institute of technology, is situated in Karaikal, Puducherry. This is one of the newly formed NIT, sanctioned by the government of India in 2009, as a part of five year plan. The institute started functioning from the academic year 2010-11 onwards. The institute functions from a temporary campus and the students here are admitted on the basis of marks obtained in the Joint entrance examinations. From the total number of seats available during the admission process 50% of the seats are reserved for the candidates having residence/native at Puducherry. The remaining 50% seats are filled on all India quota basis. The examinations consist of three sections such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry. And these examinations are extremely important for the students to clear examinations.
Every year there are lakhs of students who appear for these examinations and very few of them get selected. Students are supposed to work extremely hard in order to get through the examination. In the present scenario, there are various sample papers and model test papers which provide a great help to the students. These sample papers include all the past year questions and expected questions in the examinations. In a nutshell, it is extremely important for every student to work hard and get through all these examinations. Competition these days has progressively increased, therefore it is always advisable to work hard and stay persistent.
The institute also comprise of various departments which play a very important role in the development and growth of a student. Departments such as computer science engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electronics and communication. All these fields and department serve different purposes to the students. Placement of candidates are done purely on the basis of subjects opted by the students and the maximum scored. Currently it offers three B. Tech courses, such as bachelor of technology of electronics and communication engineering, computer science engineering, mechanical engineering and etc.
Not only this, there are also various festivals organized by the students in the institution. Participants from all over the nation come and take part in the same. All such festivals play an important role in the growth and development of students.
There are also technical activities such as departmental gathering, workshops, guest lectures and other various competitions organized by the department as well in order to equip students and make them proficient.
