About NIT,Warangal
National institute of Warangal is one of the premier federally funded technical institutes in India. The institute is located on the either side of Hyderabad and is formerly known as regional engineering college. The institute was renamed as the national institute of technology Warangal or NIT Warangalin September, 2002.
There are various undergraduate and post graduate courses offered by the institute. For instance, the bachelor of technology in which the students were provided admissions on the basis of All India Engineering entrance examination. The exam basically consists of three sections, Mathematics, physics, chemistry. However, from the year 2013, there was a slight change in the examination pattern and the admission was done through JEE mains and the ranks were given after considering 60% of the marks scored in the test and 40% in the class 12th examinations. The admission for foreign students in bachelor of technology was done through DASA i.e. direct admission of students abroad and ICCR schemes.
As far as post - graduation courses are concerned, students in the same are admitted through the graduate aptitude test in engineering which is conducted by the Indian institutes of technology and Indian institute of science. Students who wish to seek admission in MCA i.e. Master of computer applications are admitted through NIMCET. The admissions into MBA are based on CAT/MAT result and the short listed candidates are supposed to undergo group discussion and personal interview for the final selection.
Besides focusing completely on academics, there are various cultural events which are mostly held throughout the year. There are three day annual technical symposiums which are organized by bunch of students of National institute of technology, Warangal and this platform provides students across the nation to assemble, interact, and share knowledge in various fields of science and technology. The same was started in the year 2006 and has certainly grown to become one of the major technical festivals of south India with a footfall of over 6000 students. The festival is popularly known as Technozion. Not only this, there are also various festivals besides this which prove to be extremely fruitful for the students and offer them huge learning opportunities.
Moreover, the institute also comprises of student associations and every branch has the same with a staff head and executive body of the students. This body of students organizes lectures, run quizzes, conduct workshops, and discuss about the development related activities and the placement talks.
