Bank Holidays October 12-18, 2026: Will Banks Be Open?

Bank branches across Uttar Pradesh and most other states are scheduled to remain open from Monday, October 12, to Friday, October 16, 2026, as there are no listed public bank holidays during this period.

Here is the schedule for the week:

  • October 12-16 (Monday-Friday): Banks will operate normally across most states, including Uttar Pradesh.

  • October 17 (Saturday): Banks will remain open because it is the third Saturday of the month. However, branches in Agartala will be closed for Maha Saptami.

  • October 18 (Sunday): Bank branches will remain closed nationwide for the regular weekly holiday.

Customers can continue using digital banking services, including UPI, mobile banking, internet banking and ATMs, subject to service availability.

How Will Bank Holidays Affect Customers And Students?

All the bank holidays will bring a pause to all the bank services. All the services that are availed physically will be paused.

On a positive note, your everyday banking does not necessarily have to take a holiday. All customers can use digital services such as UPI, ATMs, mobile banking and internet banking for routine transactions.

Certain services still require a visit to the bank, making advance planning essential. These tasks involve documentation, cheque processing and other branch-dependent activities that may face delays during festive closures.

Customers and students are advised to complete urgent banking work beforehand and check their bank’s holiday schedule. A little preparation can help keep festive celebrations free from financial inconvenience.
