MCC NEET UG Counselling 2026: Round-1 Seat Resignation & Withdrawal Facility Opens
MCC NEET UG 2026: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has activated the Round-1 seat resignation facility for NEET UG 2026 FREEZE candidates from September 12, 04:00 PM to September 15, 06:00 PM. Candidates resigning within this window avoid security deposit forfeiture. Mandatory physical reporting and an online portal-generated resignation slip are required.
MCC NEET UG 2026: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) from Directorate General of Health Services has released Official Notice Number 21 (Ref. U-11011/07/2026-MEC dated 12th September, 2026). The notice contains significant information related to the participants in NEET UG Counselling 2026. It formally activates the online facility of resignation and seat withdrawal, which is specially provided for FREEZE candidates of Round-1.
The online facility will suit the needs of those candidates who are already allotted a seat in Round-1 through counselling of MCC but wish to leave that seat. As per the schedule provided by the official notice, the resignation facility will start on 12th September, 2026 at 04:00 PM and end on 15th September, 2026 at 06:00 PM. Those candidates who will successfully go through the process of resignation during this specific period will get the chance to withdraw without loss of their security deposit. However, those candidates whose process of resignation will be done after 06:00 PM of 15th September, 2026, will definitely lose their security deposit.

Those candidates who were allocated the seat under Round-1 counselling via MCC and would like to withdraw can do so during the following period:

Without Forfeiture: The resignation offered within the prescribed time period (prior to 06:00 PM on September 15, 2026) will be done without forfeiting the security deposit.

Forfeiture After the Deadline: In case of any resignation/withdrawal done after 06:00 PM on September 15, 2026, the consequence will be WITH forfeiture of the security deposit.

Physical Presence Compulsory: The candidates opting for resignation/withdrawal need to report physically at their respective allotted institutions to complete the process of resignation.

Resignation Letter on Online Mode Necessary: The candidates have to make sure that their resignation letter/seat withdrawal slip is issued on online mode through the MCC portal by the nodal officer of the admitting institution.

Any resignation done otherwise will be considered ‘Null & Void’.
