Where Do the 48 Award-Winning Teachers Teach?

The winners come from many different types of schools. This shows how wide the reach of school education is in India:

  • Government schools run by states and UTs. Most winners belong to this group.

  • Kendriya Vidyalaya schools, which are run by the Central Government for central employees and other students.

  • Navodaya Vidyalaya schools, which give free residential education to talented rural students.

  • Eklavya Model Residential Schools, which serve tribal students.

  • Sainik Schools, which prepare students for a future in the armed forces.

  • CBSE and CISCE affiliated private schools.

  • Special schools, like the one in Goa for students with special needs.

  • PM SHRI schools, which are model schools under a Central Government scheme.
