The Punjab government is run by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The state administration is through the Council of Ministers (COM).
The current government was formed after the Punjab Legislative Assembly Elections 2022. In the 2022 elections. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) formed the government with a landslide victory winning 92 out of the 117 seats.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took the oath of office and appointed his initial Council of Ministers(CoM). However, governance requires adaptation and strong leadership.
The AAP government faced a major structural cabinet reshuffle. It was aimed at boosting administrative efficiency, public welfare and addressing regional representation.
Punjab Cabinet Minister List 2026: The Overview
The Chief Minister heads the Punjab Council of Ministers with each cabinet member assigned critical portfolios to ensure structural development, economic growth, and law enforcement across the state.
In thereshuffling four ministers were dropped from the cabinet and five new ministers were appointed including Hardeep Hall Mundian, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Barinder Kumar Goyal and Mohinder Bhagat.
