Zones like Chandigarh, Allahabad, Ajmer, and Kolkata usually saw higher cutoffs due to more applicants, while zones like Malda and Siliguri stayed on the lower side.
For 2026, the cutoff pattern has followed a similar trend, but exact marks differ zone to zone based on vacancies and the number of candidates under CEN 06/2024. Since the exam was held across multiple shifts, RRB used normalization to adjust marks so no shift had an unfair advantage. Candidates should always check their own zone's official PDF, since the gap between zones can be as much as 20-25 marks for the same category.
What After RRB NTPC UG Cutoff 2026?
Candidates who clear the RRB NTPC UG CBT 1 Cutoff 2026 become eligible to appear for CBT 2, the next stage of the selection process. CBT 2 carries more weight since marks from this stage are used for preparing the final merit list. After clearing CBT 2, candidates for posts requiring typing skills need to appear for the CBAT or Typing Skill Test, which is qualifying in nature. Candidates who clear all stages are then called for Document Verification (DV) at their respective regional RRB headquarters, followed by a Medical Examination to confirm fitness for the post. Once all rounds are completed, RRB releases the final merit list and issues appointment letters based on category-wise vacancies in each zone.
Factors Affecting RRB NTPC UG Cutoff 2026

Number of vacancies announced by RRB
-
Total number of candidates appearing for the examination
