Gauhati University Final Semester Exams to be conducted in September, SOP for exams available online

Gauhati University has released a Standard Operating Procedure for conducting the final semester examinations which are scheduled to be conducted from September 2020. Candidates appearing for the final semester exams can visit the official website to check the SOP for the exams

Gauhati University Exams 2020: Gauhati University has released a Standard Operating Procedure for conducting the final semester examinations which are scheduled to be conducted from September 2020. The intermediate semester students will be promoted to the next year based on the internal assessment marks. According to the university, the final semester undergraduate and postgraduate students will be evaluated based on the 50-50 formula where 50 percent will be marked from the offline exams while the remaining 50 will be based on internal assessment 

According to the official statement released, the final semester exams will be conducted in a blended mode (offline and online) in order to maintain COVID-19 protocol, and the relevant SOP published by the UGC for the purpose is followed.

50-50 Evaluation formula

The final semester exam question papers will cover the whole syllabus but the students will be required to attempt questions for 50 percent marks only while the remaining 50 percent marks will be calculated on the basis of internal assessment. 

Evaluation for Intermediate Semester Students

The students in the intermediate semester who have submitted their examination forms before the last date, the internal assessment marks and theory mark in the earlier semester subjects will be considered for the evaluation.

The University Grants Commission had earlier last month released guidelines for the universities and colleges to conduct the final semester examinations for the students. The UGC has provided the colleges a timeline until September 30, 2020, to complete the final semester examinations for the students. The UGC has also provided the universities with the option of conducting the exams in the offline, online, or both the modes as per the decision of the respective institutions.
