International Yoga Day 2026: Date

International Yoga Day 2026 is celebrated every year on June 21, 2026. This is also the day for Summer Solstice which is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. This date was not chosen by accident.

In yogic tradition, the Summer Solstice is considered spiritually important. According to yogic philosophy, it is believed that on this day, Adiyogi (Lord Shiva) began passing on the knowledge of yoga to his disciples. This makes June 21 deeply connected to the ancient roots of yoga.
