The National Testing Agency has confirmed a new NEET 2026 leak scare as a social media user posted a claim on the internet that they were able to purchase RE-NEET 2026 question papers on Telegram channels. The NTA has informed the CyberCrime cell about the complaint for verification and action.

Is Re-Neet Exam Paper Leak Again?

Widespread proof of a leak surfaced after the May 3, 2026 exam, revealing that a handwritten "guess paper" that matched 120 to 140 real exam questions had been extensively shared via Telegram and WhatsApp before the test date.
On June 21, 2026, a high-security, official NEET re-examination will take place in accordance with military-grade standard operating protocols. Be advised that a number of live Telegram channels purporting to sell these re-exam papers have been reported by the NTA as fraudulent phishing and financial frauds.

What was the Reason Behind the Alert?

A Twitter user named @NTA_Exams and @Cyberdost shared links on the social platform to three Telegram groups from where RE-NEET 2026 papers are being sold by the same person. The complainant called on the relevant authorities to pursue investigations in those avenues in a timely manner to avoid student victimisation.

The development comes after a rise in the security breaches of the exams following the cancellation of NEET UG 2026 this year. In the past, scams were run, where Telegram users had to pay ₹10 lakh per paper to the group, and nearly 8,000 students had been defrauded of Rs 5.74 crore. These frauds are claiming that they possess the RE-NEET 2026 paper on 21st June 2026.

What was NTA's Response on the Allegations of Leaks?

The NTA has issued a warning on each and every such leak allegations again and again. The agency has identified and flagged several posts with paper on Telegram and WhatsApp as fraudulent. Earlier in April 2026, the NTA had clarified that there is no paper leak in NEET UG 2026 and the examination will be conducted as scheduled.

Only use official sources from NTA's official website nta.ac.in and verified social media pages, and not from unofficial sources. Students are not to pay money for so-called leaked papers - these are scams. If you receive suspicious emails claiming to be selling newspapers, report them to the authorities without contacting any suspicious parties.

The CBI is now investigating the initial case of NEET UG 2026 paper leak, and NTA director-general has stated that “the paper is not leaked from our system”. Students should be mindful to prepare and guard against scam attempts for the anxious aspirants prior to re-exam.
