Candidates must meet all the eligibility criteria given below to apply for the CSIR ASO Recruitment 2026:

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Candidates must be non-recommended candidates of the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 (CSE-2024). The candidate's name must appear on the UPSC Pratibha Setu Portal

• Age limit: The maximum age limit is 33 years

CSIR has announced a total of 100 Assistant Section Officer posts under Advertisement No. E-I/RC/2026/2. These vacancies are divided into three cadres:

Out of these 100 posts, 7 (including 2 backlog) are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD). Cadre allocation will be based on merit and candidates' preferences submitted in the application form. Once allotted, the cadre cannot be changed.
