CBSE Term 1 Exam Begins Tomorrow: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will officially commence the CBSE Term 1 Exams for the Class 10 and 12 students from tomorrow i.e. 16th November 2021. From tomorrow, the CBSE Term 1 Exam will begin for Class 12 students with minor subjects, whereas Class 10 Exam for minor subjects will begin from 17th November 2021. In terms of major subject exams, the CBSE Class 10 Term 1 Exams will begin from 30th November while CBSE Class 12 Term 1 Exams will begin from 1st December 2021. The Term 1 Exam of CBSE Board is being held in objective-type format with MCQ based questions being asked in the papers.
CBSE Term 1 Exam Admit Cards
With CBSE 10th and 12th Exam for Term 1 starting from tomorrow, the Board has already released the exam admit cards or hall tickets to the students. The CBSE Term 1 Admit Cards have been release for both Class 10 and Class 12 students and the exam roll numbers can be obtained by the students by logging onto the board’s website i.e. cbse.gov.in. To download and access CBSE Admit Card for Term 1 Exam, students will need to to use their user ids and passwords.
Special Exam Later
Many students have raised concerns about the CBSE Term 1 Exam Dates clashing with other events such as in international or national sports events and international Olympiads in which they are participating. For such students, the board plans on holding a special exam later on.
COVID-19 Positive Students
To ensure safe conduct of CBSE Term 1 Exams, the board has made special arrangements with strict adherence with COVID-19 guidelines. However, despite these preparations, if any student tests positive for COVID during the exam and is unable to appear for Term 1 Exams, the final result for such students will be calculated on the basis of their performance in Term 2 Exam.
Term 1 Exam to Cover 50% Syllabus
With the CBSE Board Exam 2022 being bifurcated into two terms, the syllabus for each term has also been divided into two halfs. Therefore, students should note that the Term 1 Exam would be held only as per the 50% of the overall rationalized syllabus announced by the board earlier. Candidates who are not familiar with it, can download the rationalized syllabus for CBSE Term 1 Exam from official website i.e. cbseacademic.nic.in.

CBSE Term 1 Exam Sample Papers
Along with the syllabus for Term 1 Exam, the Board has also released sample papers for the same for each subject. The sample papers were released online and made available to the students online via the official website. Students are advised to go through the sample papers to understand the exam format, type of questions that will be asked and to understand the overall difficultly level of the examination.
Important Instructions / Exam-Day Guidelines
To help students appear for the CBSE Term 1 Exam in a more streamlined and organized manner, the board has also issued important instructions and exam-day guidelines. Some important ones from the same are discussed below:
- Reporting time: Students are expected to reach or report their respective exam centres at-least 1 hour prior to the start of the examination.
- Admit Cards Mandatory: CBSE Term 1 Admit Cards are mandatory document without which students will not be allowed entry into the exam centre and exam hall. Therefore, all students should carry them to the exam hall.
- COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour: With the pandemic threat still being there, all students are required to follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviour. This includes carrying hand sanitizers and ensure social distancing to avoid any possible transmission of infection and stay safe.
- Time for Reading Question Papers: The Board has given students 20 minutes of additional time to read question papers for every paper, instead of the previous 15 minutes.
- OMR-based Answer Sheet: The CBSE Term 1 Exam is being held in objective format and answers will have to be provided on an OMR Answer Sheet.
