Other Flooding Rivers: The Gandak (near Dumariaghat and Hajipur), Kosi (near Baltara and Kursela), Burhi Gandak (at Khagaria), Punpun (at Sripalpur), and Bagmati rivers (at Benibad) are also flowing above their danger marks.

Significant Disruptions to Infrastructure and Transport

Rail Operations Affected: The East Central Railway has canceled and diverted a number of trains because the increase in the water level of a river close to the railroad bridge between Punpun and Parsa Bazar stations due to heavy rain created a danger to safety.

The flood situation in Bihar in 2026 reveals an important weakness of the local communities living next to the rivers in the Ganga basin, underlining how the impact of heavy upstream rain coincides with the flood situations. The floods seen at such stations as Gandhi Ghat can be recorded at higher than average levels and only through cooperation of the water resources services, National Disaster Relief Force, and local government can lead to salvation.
