How Ishan Kishan Dethroned Abhishek Sharma in ICC T20I Batting Ranking

Abhishek Sharma who ranked number one in the list of ICC Men’s T20I rankings for nearly 12 months with 869 rating points has finally passed down his crown to Ishan Kishan. The reshuffling of the batter rankings came after the conclusion of the recent two-match assignment of India against Ireland in Belfast.

Ishan Kishan's breathtaking consistency during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup this year has already laid the foundation for this historic feat. His best performance was in the city of Colombo where he scored 77 runs from just 40 deliveries against Pakistan and was thus awarded the Player of the Match title.

As of now Ishan Kishan is one of only four Indian male cricketers who have managed to reach the top spot on the ICC T20I batting rankings. The other players that have already made it onto this list include -

Virat Kohli,

Suryakumar Yadav, and
