Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will hold a Combined All India Open Examination for recruitment to Group-B, Non-Gazetted, Non Ministerial post, classified as General Central Service (Technical), of Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical, Civil & Mechanical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveying and Contracts) in 5 departments in the Pay Band of Rs.9300-34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4200. Interested eligible candidates can register online till 15 March 2013.

Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.9300-34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4200.
Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee of Rs.100 has to be deposited in any branch of State Bank of India either through Fee payment Challan or using Net-banking facility.

Selection Process: Selection process will comprise of a Written Examination followed by an Interview. Candidates will be shortlisted for Interview on the basis of the marks obtained by them in the Written Examination. Candidates qualifying for Interview will have to produce copies of supporting documents.
Examination Scheme: The examination will be conducted in two stages:
A. Written Test (500 marks)
B. Interview ( 100 marks)

Paper-II of only such candidates who are shortlisted on the basis of their performance in Paper-I will be evaluated.
There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.
Candidates must carry at least one photo bearing IDENTITY PROOF in original such as Driving Licence, Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, Identity Card issued by University/College, Income Tax Pan Card etc to the examination centre, failing
which they shall not be allowed to appear for the examination.
Personality Test (Interview): 100 marks
Only those candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks in the written examination will be eligible to appear in the Interview. The interview will be held at places decided by the Commission.
Candidates who qualify in the Interview will be recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of total marks in the Written Examination and Interview.
Candidates, appointed, shall be on probation for a period of two years and during the period of probation, the candidates would be required to undergo such training or pass such examinations as prescribed by the Controlling Authority. On successful completion of the period of probation, candidates, if considered fit for permanent appointment, be confirmed to their post by the Controlling Authority
Travel Allowance: SC/ST candidates called for Interview will be paid TA. However, no TA is payable to any candidate for appearing in the written examination.
Examination Centres: A candidate must indicate the centre in the Application Form in respect of the Examination.

Admission to The Examination: All candidates who apply by the closing date will be assigned Roll numbers which will be communicated to them / placed on the website of the concerned Regional Office at least two weeks before the Date of Examination.
Admission Certificates (ACs) for the Examination indicating time table and venue of examination will be issued to each candidate about two weeks before the date of examination. Candidates who do not receive admission certificate one week before the date of examination, should contact the concerned regional/sub regional office (s) with details such as registration id, transaction Id of SBI, copy of challan etc for obtaining the admission certficates.
A candidate must write his/her Roll number along with his/her name, date of birth and name of the examination while addressing any communication to the concerned regional office of the Commission.
Candidates can also download the admission certificates from the concerned regional/sub regional offices website. Such facility will be available about two weeks before the examination.

Part I Registration will be open till 13 March 2013 while Part II Registration can be done till 15 march 2013.
On successful Part I Registration, a page with Registration No will be generated. Candidates should take its print out. Next, they should pay the fee through any of the prescribed method -- online through SBI net banking or in cash by SBI bank Challan and then continue with the Part II registration.
On successful Part-II registration, candidates will receive emails regarding the same. Candidates should retain a Copy of email & Challan for any further assistance. Candidates should also retain the Registration Number assigned to them Online and Details of Payment of Fee for further correspondence with the Commission. They should not submit print outs of their Application to the Commission.
NOTE:
Posts carry All India Service Liability (AISL) i.e. selected candidates can be asked to serve anywhere in the country.
Only a single application will be entertained. In case, a candidate submits multiple applications, then the application for which part-I and part-II Registration have been completed will be accepted.
