The National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) prescribes the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) syllabus. Candidates who plan on taking the AILET BA LLB & LLM exam 2024 should check out the latest AILET syllabus. The Legal Aptitude and Mathematics sections have been removed in previous year question papers. Changes in AILET BA LLB Syllabus
AILET BA LLB syllabus 2024 has undergone some major changes. Candidates should focus on preparing for the exam as per the AILET syllabus for BA LLB so that they can study as per the syllabus prescribed by NLUD. Here are the major changes in the AILET BA LLB syllabus.
- AILET BA LLB syllabus shall have three sections in it. The sections include Mathematics and Legal Aptitude. In 2022, NLUD dropped two sections, i.e. Mathematics and Legal Aptitude. Hence, instead of five sections in total, the exam shall now consist of three sections.
- Section-wise weightage has also changed. However, the total number of questions remains the same, i.e. 150 questions.
- Questions related to Legal Principles will be asked in the exam, However, candidates do not require technical knowledge to answer such questions. This section tests the candidates understanding and familiarity with legal reasoning.

AILET LLM Syllabus 2024
AILET LLM syllabus 2024 consists of two sections having objective and descriptive questions. The subjects included in the syllabus will be English language, current affairs and logical reasoning. Section A shall have English language and logical reasoning while section B shall have 10 questions from different law branches. The candidates will have to answer any 2 out of 10 given questions.

Changes in AILET 2024 LLM syllabus
As per NLU Delhi, the AILET LLM syllabus has undergone the following changes.
- AILET LLM exam shall have two sections - Section A and Section B
- Section A will be multiple-choice, while Section B will be descriptive.
- Section A will have two parts - Part A - English language (50 questions; 50 marks), and Part B - Legal reasoning (50 questions; 50 marks)
- Section B will have eight to ten questions from different branches of law. Candidates will have to answer any two questions out of 10 of 25 marks each).
- Evaluation of Section B - NLU Delhi will make a shortlist of candidates based on Section A's scores. Section B will be evaluated for only such candidates included in the shortlist.
- Final AILET 2024 Merit Rank - The merit list shall be prepared after considering scores of both Section A and B
- Tie-breaker - If two or more candidates secure the same marks, then merit rank will be decided by the candidate's seniority or computerized draw of lots.

The Family Law sections in AILET PG syllabus includes domestic partnership, marriage, surrogacy, adoption, paternity, child custody and juvenile laws. Criminal Law section of AILET syllabus, includes threatening, harmful, or otherwise endangering to the property, health, safety, and moral welfare of people inclusive of one's self.
For International law, candidates will be expected to answer questions from set of rules, agreements and treaties implemented and used for bridging gaps between nations that serve as a framework for the practice of stable and organized international relations. The Jurisprudence section of AILET PG syllabus includes the theoretical or philosophical study of law in order to gain a deeper understanding of legal reasoning, legal systems, legal institutions and their role in society.
The Law of Contracts included in AILET PG syllabus includes studying of agreement between two or more parties to perform a service, provide a product or commit to an act that is enforceable by law. Candidates are expected to have an understanding of the several types of contracts, and their specific terms and conditions.
The Law of Torts included in AILET syllabus includes common law jurisdictions. Candidates must also have an in depth understanding of Property Law governing the various forms of ownership and tenancy in real property and personal property, within the common law legal system and must also possess a clear knowledge of International Property Law revolving around the rules for securing and enforcing legal rights to inventions, designs, and artistic works according to the AILET Syllabus for postgraduate entrance.
