India’s two decade wait for AFC U20 Asian Cup has finally ended on Sunday, September 6. In a decisive Group B clash in Asian Cup qualifiers, India defeated Bangladesh 3-0 at Do’stlik Stadium in Tashkent to book their place in the continental tournament after 20 years.
Next year’s AFC U20 Asian Cup 2027 will also serve as the qualification tournament for the FIFA U20 World Cup. The top four teams will earn direct qualification for World Cup, which is set to take place next year in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
In recent match against Bangladesh, India took the lead in the 25th minute when Danny Meitei Laishram found the back of the net. Vishal Yadav then extended India’s lead after one hour with a fine finish. Substitute Md Arbash completed the scoring in the 79th minute as India win comfortably 3-0.

The AFC U20 Asian Cup 2027 will take place in China from March 24 to April 10, 2027. The tournament will feature 16 teams divided into 4 groups, with 4 teams in each group. The top 2 teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
