SC Verdict on Final Year Exams 2020 Postponed: With the Supreme Court delaying the decision on holding of Final Year Exams 2020 in line with UGC Guidelines getting postponed, the wait for college and University students got even longer. As per the latest update, the apex court is unlikely to deliver the final verdict today. This has resulted in increased anxiety among students who are due to appear for the Final Year Exams 2020 are eagerly awaiting the decision on the matter. News from the Supreme Court complex is that the matter is not even listed for hearing today. So, until the final decision is announced by the apex court the mystery around the matter of whether Exams for Final Year Students should be held mandatorily by the varsity remains to be unveiled.

No Clarity About Possible Date of Verdict

The news about the petition which challenges UGC guidelines that mandates compulsory holding of University Exams for final year students, not being listed for hearing today i.e. on 26^th Sept 2020, was confirmed by Advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava, who is also representing students in the case. As of now, there is no clarity as to by when the final decision in the case would be delivered. Therefore, students are advised not to believe in any fake news and rumours about the verdict in the case being delivered today or tomorrow. However, the students and other stakeholders are hoping for an early decision on the matter which will end uncertainty and ease the pressure and anxiety that students are reeling under.

Universities Start Releasing Exam Time Tables

With no clarity yet from the Supreme Court about cancellation of the Final Year Exams 2020, varsities across the country have started making the necessary preparations to hold the exams in near future. UGC Guidelines released on 6^th July 2020, mandates holding of the exams for final year students by 31^st Sept 2020 and in line with this, universities will have to commence the exam soon to be able to complete the exercise soon. Recently, Kurukshetra University announced that it would be holding the final year exams for the students in the form of an Open Book Test 2020 from 10^th Sept 2020 onwards. On similar lines, Guwahati University has also released the exam datesheet for final year exams and also released the SOP and guidelines that students need to follow.
