Nishad Kumar recently performed exceptionally to clinch the silver medal in the Paralympics held in Paris 2024 men's high jump T-47 his jump was 2. 04 meters. This was held on the 1st of September in the year 2024 and it was his second Paralympic medal. He also won a silver at the TOKYO/2020 Paralympics with a creditable jump of 2. 06 meters.
This is evident because, despite his growing 24 years of age, he engages himself in the T-47 category which entails athletes with ‘unilateral impairment of the arms.’ This showed in Paris where he was to place third behind the USA’s Roderick Townsend who leaped to 2.12 meters. Georgii Margiev from Russia won the bronze with a leap of 2. 00 meters.
However, Kumar said he was disappointed at not bagging gold in the event, especially since he had been practicing in training sessions and had even jumped 2.10 meters.
