The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on 22 April 2014 launched the AIFF Academy Certification in New Delhi. This certification has been launched with an aim to set a standard of youth development in the country, through certification model. This initiative of IAFF is the first of its kind in India.
A set of criteria has been developed by AIFF on basis of which the academies will be assessed and certified and they will be given a rating as per the points gained by each academy on the criteria. AIFF's technical department has developed this concept of certification.
Criteria of certification will be based on the following aspects of the Academy
• Coaching staff and qualifications
• Facilities
• Youth Development and teams supported
• Training schedule, training sessions
• Curriculum
• Scouting network
• Medical Facilities, Schooling, accommodation (if residential), travelling, kitting and others
Under the process of AIFF Academy Certification the academies will be rated between 1-star (lowest) to 5-star (highest). This Certification will be applicable for a year after which the Certification will have to be renewed.
Certification will be applicable for residential and non-residential Academies. For this certification different models have been developed and are relevant to the needs of each.

All India Football Federation (AIFF) is a National Association that is registered with the Registrar of Societies, Mumbai under the Societies Registration Act, 1850. It is headquartered in Dwarka, New Delhi and is formed for an unlimited period.
As a Federation it is a member of FIFA, AFC and Indian Olympic Association and is self obliged to respect the Statues, Regulations, Directives and decisions of FIFA and AFC and to ensure that these are likewise respected by its Members.
