The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on 24 May 2015 recommended Contract system for Indian women cricket team. The recommendations were released at the finance committee meeting held in Delhi.
The Committee recommended to brought India's international women's cricketers under the ambit of gradation payment like their male counterparts.
The Women’s Cricket Committee of the BCCI made the following recommendations to the Working Committee:
On the lines of Men’s cricket, a Contract system for international Women cricketers was proposed. It was also proposed to have more international fixtures for the Indian women’s cricket team.
The Committee recommended adding two more tournaments to give more exposure and opportunities to women cricketers at the domestic level. The Committee proposed to start an under-16 state level tournament within the zones. It also proposed to start an under-23 tournament.
The present formats of the women’s under-19 tournament and the senior women’s tournament will remain unchanged.
