The approvals were given during the ICC Annual Conference held in Barbados.

The key changes were

• In One Day Internationals (ODIs), there will be no compulsory catchers from the first to the 10th over.
• In ODIs, no batting powerplays will be allowed between the 15th and 40th over.
• In ODIs, five fielders will be allowed outside the 30-yard circle between the 41st and 50th over, rather than the current four.
• In ODIs and T20Is, all no-balls, not just foot faults, will lead to a free hit.

These playing conditions will come into effect for series starting on or after 5 July 2015.
