Odia Lyricist Nizam Died in Bhubaneswar at 62

Renowned Odia lyricist Nizam was born in Cuttack in 1952.

Renowned Odia lyricist Nizam died on 22 September 2015 in Bhubaneswar following cardiac arrest and kidney failure. He was 62 years old.

Nizam was born in Cuttack in 1952. He started his career as an All India Radio artiste. Soon, he jumped into Odia Film Industry as a lyricist in 1977 and created a niche for himself. He had written songs for over 100 films in his 35 years of career.

Some of the most famous songs penned by him are Hrudayara Eei Sunyata Ku Aaji Pachari Mu Jebe Sune, Needa Bhara Rati, Madhu Bhara Janha, Mu Je Eka Pagala Bhanra etc.

Though, Nizam was born in a Muslim family, he used to write devotional songs dedicated to Lord Jagannath.
