S.C. Sinha- Appointed Director General of NIA

S.C. Sinha was appointed the second Director-General of the National Investigation Agency on 10 Feb 2010. He succeeded the first chief of the agency, Radha Vinod Raju, whose tenure ended in Jan 2010.

S.C. Sinha was appointed the second Director-General of the National Investigation Agency on 10 Feb 2010. He succeeded the first chief of the agency, Radha Vinod Raju, whose tenure ended in Jan 2010.

National Investigation Agency (NIA), a new federal agency approved by the Indian Government to combat terror in India was formed after the Mumbai terror attack in November 2010. The National Investigation Agency Bill 2008 to create the agency was moved in Parliament by Union Home Minister on 16 December 2008. The agency will be empowered to deal with terror related crimes across states without special permission from the states.
