The Parliament of India is the supreme legislative body in India. Founded in 1919, the Parliament alone possesses legislative supremacy and thereby ultimate power over all political bodies in India. It invites application from eligible candidates for the recruitment in Rajya Sabha Secretariat for the posts mentioned below.

  • Junior Parliamentary Interpreter (English/ Hindi): 4 vacancies
  • Junior Parliamentary Interpreter (Telugu): 1 vacancy
  • Junior Parliamentary Reporter (Hindi): 4 vacancies
  • Junior Parliamentary Reporter (English): 4 vacancies
  • Executive/Legislative/Committee/Protocol Assistant: 8 vacancies
  • Security Assistant Grade II: 6 vacancies
  • Junior Clerk (English): 18 vacancies
  • Junior Clerk (Urdu): 1 vacancy
  • Translator: 10 vacancies
  • Junior Proof Reader: 12 vacancies
  • Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade): 3 vacancies

Last date for submission of application: 20 December 2011 till 5 pm

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 20 December 2011)

  • For the posts of Junior Parliamentary Interpreter (English/Hindi), Junior Parliamentary Interpreter (Telugu) and Translator: Minimum 18 years; Maximum 30 years
  • For the post of Junior Proof Reader, Minimum 18 years; Maximum 32 years
  • For the remaining posts: Minimum 18 years; Maximum 27 years

Probation: Candidate selected for appointment will be on probation for an initial period of two years.

Application Fee: Application fee of Rs 100 along with bank charges of Rs 30 i.e. a total of Rs 130 is to be paid with each application. The fee is to be deposited in any branch of State Bank of India in the Current Account No. 31096407809 in favour of DDO, Rajya Sabha. The payment of the fee is to be made through fee payment challan and the Secretariat copy of the fee payment challan duly receipted by the Bank with (a) Branch Name & Code Number, (b) Journal/Scroll Number, (c) Date of Deposit & amount, is to be enclosed with the application form. Challan, if not available, with the concerned branch of SBI, can be downloaded from the website of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat.

How to Apply: Application Form can be downloaded from the website of the Secretariat (http://www.rajyasabha.nic.in/ The application form complete in all respects should be sent to The Recruitment Cell, Rajya Sabha Secretariat, Room No. 629, Parliament House Annexe, New Delhi - 110001. The applicants should send their applications only by registered/ speed post. Applications sent in any other manner shall not be entertained.
