Indu Choudhary, the 20 year old Indian grappler won Bronze in the World Junior Championship at Pattava on 6 September 2012. She won bronze in the women’s 44 kg category after defeating Turkish Evin Demirhan. With this medal India opened its account in the tournament.
To qualify for this round, Indu succeeded in lop-sided pre-quarterfinals over Russian Aziyata Khomushku. She lost the chance of getting home a silver or gold after facing a defeat from Rie Matsumoto, a competitor from Japan in the semi-finals.
