Soma Mondal on 12 March 2014 was appointed as the first woman director (commercial) of Navratna Public Sector Unit (PSU) National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO). Mondal joined Nalco in 1984 as a Graduate Engineer Trainee.
Earlier, she was working with the company as executive director (marketing) at Nalco’s corporate office.
She had worked on the different profiles in the company’s eastern and western regional offices. She had rich experience in sales and marketing,

National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Nalco) is a public sector enterprise of the Government of India. It was incorporated in 1981 to exploit a part of the large deposits of bauxite discovered in the East Coast.
