IIT Guwahati Placement 2021, Check highest package and average package offered

Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati concluded the 2021 Placements in the virtual mode. According to reports 686 students were placed for the 2020-21 academic year with Rs. 70 LPA being the highest package offered. The average salary package offered was Rs. 21.42 LPA. Close to 140 companies participated in the IIT Guwahati 2021 Placements.
Average Salary Package
The IIT Guwahati 2021 Placements were conducted amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. IIT Guwahati Centre for Career Development head Abhishek Kumar stated that the average package offered this year has increased compared to the Rs. 20.62 LPA package offered previously.
Highest Placement batch
Close to 444 students out of 584 students placed were from the B.Tech and B.Des courses. The average salary package offered to the M.Tech and M.Des students were Rs. 17.92 LPA as compared to the previous offers of Rs. 16.22 LPA.
The placements were conducted in the virtual mode for the 2020-21 academic year with maximum offered from Information Technology and Software sectors. Students from Computer Science and Engineering courses received the highest number of offers followed by the Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering courses.
With the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, many of the institutions across the country have been conducting the placements for the students in the online mode ensuring the safety of the students.
