Skyfall, the 23rd official James Bond movie, which was released in UK on 26 October 2012, had done a market of $ 669 million, making it the highest-grossing installment in the 50-year-old franchise.
Skyfall featuring Daniel Craig in his third performance as James Bond had earned a massive $ 507.9 million internationally and $ 161.3 million in North America, the film is directed by Sam Mendes and it is also ahead of well marketed 21st bond film Casino Royale which earned around $599.2 million.
The film is released and marketed by Sony on the behalf of MGM and EON Production with Sony studio already crossing $4 billion in global tickets sales for the first time in its history.
Sony studio's previous best was $3.6 billion in 2009. Sony's 2012 line up also includes The Amazing Spider-Man with $754 million worldwide, Men in Black 3 with $ 624 million and Hotel Transylvania with $283 million.
The premiere of Skyfall was on 23 October 2012 at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The film was released into US cinemas on 8 November.
