L. Deepmala Devi of India won the bronze in the Asian 20km race walking championships at Nomi City, Japan, on 14 March 2010. Deepmala clocked one hour 37 minutes, 44 seconds breaking her own earlier record (1:39:0).

L. Deepmala Devi of India won the bronze in the Asian 20km race walking championships at Nomi City, Japan, on 14 March 2010. Deepmala clocked one hour 37 minutes, 44 seconds breaking her own earlier record (1:39:0). She was behind Japan’s Masumi Fuchise (1:29:35) and Kumi Otoshi (1:30:36).


In the men's section, Japanese Isamu Fujisawa took the gold in 1:20:12 while Korean Byun Young-Jun (1:22:07) came second and Japanese Akihiro Sugimoto (1:23:33) third. National record holder Babubhai Panucha finished fourth in 1:25:52 while another Indian Harminder Singh came fifth in 1:25:52.
