India’s leading car maker Maruti Suzuki on 16 October 2012 launched its new car which is the new version of best selling model Alto.
The launched car is named 'Maruti Alto 800', and is priced between Rs 2.44 lakh and 3.56 lakh (Ex -showroom Delhi). The lower price of car allows it to compete with Tata Nano and Hyundai EON. The new Alto 800 sports a fresh look, is more spacious and delivers 15% better efficiency than its predecessor Alto.
The petrol variant of the new Alto 800 is priced at Rs 2.44 lakh and promises a fuel efficiency of 22.74 kilometre per litre. While, the CNG variant has been priced at Rs 3.19 lakh to Rs 3.56 lakh with a fuel efficiency of 30.46 kilometre per litre.
The car will be available in six colours—Frost Blue, Blazing Red, Silky Silver, Torque Blue, Granite Gray and Superior White. One of the most important feature of the car is an airbag on the driver’s side
The Maruti Alto 800 is developed entirely in India, with an investment of Rs 470 crore by Maruti Suzuki and its vendors. More than 200 Maruti Suzuki engineers worked on the Alto 800 over the last four years.
