Pradhyuman Singh, a senior MLA of Congress party was appointed as the pro-tem speaker of the 14th Rajasthan Assembly on 3 January 2014. The first session of the state’s assembly will begin on 21 January 2014.
He will administer the oath to the newly elected MLAs and will act as a pro-tem speaker, till the appointment of a full-time Speaker of the 200-member house. Sunder Lal, Ghanshyam Tiwari and Narayan Singh, the three MLAs have also been appointed to assist Pradhyuman Singh as per the state government release.
Singh represents the Rajakhera constituency and is an eight time congress legislator. BJP has won the recently concluded assembly elections in the date with 163 seats. Congress party was able to win 21 seats.
