Popular Malayalam actor and folk singer Kalabhavan Mani passed away on 6 March 2016 in Kochi. He was 45.
The winner of National Special Jury Award in 2000 for his performance in Malayalam film Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum, Mani died allegedly because of methyl alcohol consumption.

• Mani Raman, better known by his stage name Kalabhavan Mani, started his career as a mimicry artist with the Kalabhavan troupe.
• He starred in over 200 films, including Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu films.
• He is renowned for his comedy, character and villain roles.
• He won the National Film Award and Kerala State Film Award in 1999 for his performance as Ramu in Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum.
